violent provocation and a simple reaction
i didn't write since a long time , but with this affair of the blasphemous cartoons towards our prophet (peace be upon him) i think i should say something , the danish newspaper claimed that it had no intention to hurt muslims feelings , it has just exerciced freedom of press !!!, the amazing thing for me is the amazement itself of the these people when they saw the reaction of muslims around the globe , maybe because they have no respect for other people beliefs from the beginning or maybe they themselves have no belief in god ( i mean sincere belief, otherwise they wouldn't insult jesus himself ( peace be upon him)), i'm against violence and against attacking embassies and harming innocent people and the majority of muslims are peaceful , but it's really difficult for any muslim or for any believer to keep silence when his faith is insulted at this level, and let me ask a question : those who have made this cartoons weren't aware of its consequences ? of course they were , but they want to confirm the theory of a viloent clash between a so-called civilized west and a hostile muslim world, but thank to god they're a minority in the west as well as the extremists are very small minority in the muslim world, i'm sure alot of western people and specially intelectuals are against this blasphemy and with those wise people that the muslim world should built bridges and exchange ideas and opinions , what happened has revealed how huge the gap between a west that exagertated alot it's definition of freedom of press and a muslim world that believes alot in a western conspiracy , freedom of the press have limits called diffamation, insult , racism ...and before asking why the muslims are so violent ask what did you do to muslims as a proof of your sincere will of peaceful coexistence ?

Disrespect for any religion is not to be condoned, and neither is violence against another human being. The 'provocation' and the 'reaction' will make the world realize that there is a chasm between cultures and that chasm needs to be bridged through meaningful dialog and cultural exchange at different levels.

We need to work hard on telling others, there will be people who will listen I am sure, we need to be patient and to face intolerence with a calm soothing way of laying out information so that maybe at least 2:10 will listen, eventually they will increase God willing. I have hope. I really do and always will.
I agree that we need a serious dialog with the west but a dialog based on mutual respect and a sincere intention to understand each other.

None of you demonstrated when your co-religionists tortured and executed hundreds of children in Beslan, Russia. There were no demonstrations after 9/11 or 7/11 or after madrid or the other atrocities done on behalf of the "religion of peace".

You sound an old-fashioned zionist ,and you have to recognize that you're not the kind of people who would encourage muslims to dialog with the west, but because Allah oredred us to be fair i'll tell something : there are some extremists among muslims who are not helping in presenting the essence of Islam ,they're themselves ennemies of islam with bad or good inetention, and by acting the way they've acted they've given a justification to people like you to attack Islam and Quran ( the holy book revealed by the same God who revealed Torah and Gospel wether you like it or not), they've hijacked Islam to serve their stupid agenda which itself serves the american agenda of controlling the world by convincing its people that muslims are very bad people( waw, maybe it could be a source of inspiration for another part of Scream !!!) and about the criminal attacks you mentioned , you know very well that the majority of muslims have condemned these attacks and muslims themselves were the first victims of terrorism ( i'm algerian , we've lost 200 000 human souls because of some ignorants who are unable to interprete one single verse of Quran in the right way !!!) by the way and about the affair of cartoons and freedom of speech i've something for you, the same newspaper you're defending (Jyllands-Posten) has written in 1938 after the germans set fire in a synagogue in Siegen :"you have to admit Germany its clear right to rid itself from its Jews". Don't be offended , it's just free speech !!!
Polemic agendas of fundamentalists, regardless of whether they belong to religion A or B, are to be blamed for the violence and bloodshed we see around the world today. No religion preaches hatred for a fellow human and it definitely doesn't ask of its followers to draw blood of another being!
I am in agreement with you Boumaaraf. I hope sanity rules and mutual respect prevails so that we learn to live in peace despite our differences.
Islam = violence. There cannot be a meaningful dialog with people who react to every perceived slight with violence.
Jews have made extraordinary contributions in every field of medicine and science. Islam has contributed nothing. Muslim immigrants are incapable of functioning in the
Western world because they are uneducated, unskilled and intellectually inferior. You have nothing of value to contribute. The West passed you up over two thousand years ago and never looked back.
Islamic countries are mired in misery, violence, misogyny and poverty. Islamic countries suck up an enormous amount of world aid and give back nothing in return. Everywhere you congregate you create slums. The reason so many Muslims have immigrated to the West in the first place is because of the appalling conditions you have created for yourself in your own countries. Your violence and lack of intellectual effort makes you a parasite on the rest of the world. We would all be much better off if you and your precious prophet did not exist.
