Welcome Ramadan

It's Ramadan , the holy month of fasting , i'm really happy , my spirituality is at its highest level in this month and i can feel the blessings of Allah everywhere , the mosques are full of worshippers , there is a lot of charity acts and people are donating to the poor , my question is : why can't we keep this behaviour in the rest of the year ? because we're weak ?, we can't resist the temptation of evil ? , Allah has offered us a wonderful opportunity in Ramadan to make daily training to get used to good deeds and to purify our hearts and souls , but the problem is that we're not aware of how important this month for every muslim to start new life full of faith and to get rid of the materialism that was the center of our interest during eleven months , we have to meditate alot and to remember Allah's signs of power , mercy and the real purpose of our creation , all that in order to worship Him in the appropriate manner to deserve His mercy and to prepare ourselves to meet Him without sinns or at least without major sinns , hope we will keep behavouring in a good way inshallah , Ramadan mubarak .

Thanks friends , as for Chris , Ramadan was decreed as the holy month of fasting ( it's one of the five pilars of Islam ), but it's holy also because it's the month in which the Quran was sent down by god with Gabriel to the prophet Mohammad and it commemorates the decisive battle of "Badr" in which 314 muslims won against more than 1000 paganists of the tribe of "Qureish" and it was the real start of the muslim state in Arabia .

Welcome Boredinhk and thanks for making a comment ,what i want you to know is that i wish all the best for all the human kind without discrimination ,the Panarabism ideology has encouraged hatred against jews but also against islamists ,you know the Nasserism and its theory about throwing jews in the sea ,Nasserism was a danger against the principles of Islam itself and against the rights of ethnic minorities in the arab world ,you were right to mention that some arab states were created as consequence of conflicts of interests between colonial powers ,as for Israel itself as a state you know well my friend how it was created and you know well the massacres of innocent people in "Qana" , "Dir Yacine"...(why should arab people pay the price for the crimes of Hitler!!! ) ,and you know also that jews had existed in prosperous way in Spain ,Morocco, Turkey ,America... for a long time without the state of Israel ,i know alot of jews who have no interest in Israel as a state and think they could worship God wherever they are and who don't see the necessity of creating an eternal conflict with other people ,and finally about "Koran" i want you to know that "Koran" is the holy book of God like "Torah" and "Gospel" , jews were mentioned many times in koran and God told us how he made them privileged people by sending alot of prophets to them and saving them from the opression of Pharao and how Moses (peace be upon him) crossed the sea with them and how they worshipped the golden calf ,then god forgave them and give them another chance but they have committed alot of sinns , they defied God and his prophets ,but there was always exception (alot of muslims forget that)and god told us about these stories to draw lessons and to not make the same sinns but also God in Koran talk to the jews and order them to believe in Koran as one of his holy books , but you know my friend arrogance is one of the worse enemies of people ,pls my friend read Koran ( at least as curiosity )and if you need help in understanding any verse i would be glad to help you , welcome again .

The question is not if the jews have the right to live in the middle east , but rather in which way ? Israel is a theocratic state which means that non-jews (muslims and christians ) have alot of obstacles and problems in their daily life ,and sincerly do you think it's fair to displace native people to replace them with people from Russia , Poland ,America,Argentina, Othiopia or Ouagadougou ...?!!! ,as for communication , your questions about faith or something else are welcome ,i like debating issues in different fields with intelectual and respectful people like you my friend , thanks .

Any displacement was caused by a war initiated by the Arab nations. Your complaints need to be addressed by them, your champions.

The creation of Israel displaced no one in and of itself.

So you have opressed palestians for more than 50 years as a response to the champions ?!!! ( as you called arab leaders ,by the way i don't need a champion ,my faith in God and His prophets is enough for me).

I have oppressed no one. Israel has not oppressed the Palestinian people. Those Arab nations who refuse to absorb refugees and those who voluntarilly left Israel, AS EVERY OTHER NATION ON EARTH HAS DONE FOR REFUGEES, are oppressing the Palestinians.

The Israelis are merely forcing the Palestinians to pay for sending suicide bombers to kill jewish women and their babies.

Champions? Those Palestinians are the scum of the earth. Allah wipes his ass on them when they are dead.

what a sick heart !!!!!!!!

You have an uneducated heart. The palestinians did not pay for Hitlers crime. They paid for allowing their brothers arabs to attack the new Jewish state. The new jewish state cost the palestinians nothing until they attacked.

It seems to me that the state of Isreal is a done event. We may or may not complain of the injustice, but the point of fact is that the Jews in Palastine are niether going to leave, or be forced out.

It seems to me that the only rational and productive thing to do at this point is to figure out how all of the people of the region can live happy and productive lives. Is there a solution that does not involve violence?

Salam Brother,

My first Ramadan, i asked my teacher why it was only during our holy month that muslims were so caring. He replied that if it wasyear round fasting, it would take away the "specialness" of Ramadan. Christians have there "Christmas Spirit" where they give and feel special, and come December 26 they figure they've done there part and go back to being selfish. Doesn't the Quran say to NOT be like them? So we don't fast everyday, all year long. Is THAT what Ramadan is about?? No. Its the fact that NOW you understand what your less fortunate brothers and sisters are going thru, and you GIVE fom the heart. So KEEP THIS ALIVE. Give from the heart, because Allah as given you, NOT because its a 30 day requirement.
